Now I have a user that brought me the USB drive with the CTF files on it and wants to see if there is some Windows data on the drive.I do have a copy of ArcServe r15 that I just installed to a Windows 2008 VM that I whipped up for just a purpose.
However, I cannot seem to mount the drive so that ArcServe can read the contents. I tired to go into ManagerDevice and create a new drive in there but it keeps saying that the USB drive (letter I:) is an invalid location. Is there anyone out there with some ArcServe experince that could assist me with this I have 3 USB drives that the user wants to get the archived data from, so I will need to repeat whatever the successful process is with the other two drives. Older versions of Arcserve backup supported mounting volume letter as a DS but newer versions you require folder directory. Are you certain the USB drive is being passed through the hypervisor from the host In the guest VM, do you see the drive What hypervisor are you using. I have read that you must merge the volume using the MERGE utility but I keep getting an error that says Arcserve cannot submit the run now job due to unavailable group or backup device(s). Again I just installed ArcServe on this guest VM server so there is no configuration for backup associated with it. I see the files on the USB drive that are all.ctf files and even the HEADER.CTF file. Thanks for your help. Here is how Once old FSD is attached or New FSD is attached and CTF data has been moved, FSD will be mounted to arcserve Backup as Device. In order to restore from a backups that where not created with that backup server you are required to merge entries in to Arcserve backup Database, this will allow you to view restore-able data and backed up sessions. Yes I do have the files on the USB drive here is what the file structure looks like: Now, on this computer I do not have ArcServe installed that is why there is not file associations to the application. So, I need to install ArcServe on an older PC (I only have the version that was used for this archive which is version 15r. It will not run on Windows 10, but I have a Windows 2008 Virtual machine that I can install ArcServe 15r on. Arcserve Ctf File Extractor How To Do TheI just need to know how to do the restore once I install the newest version of ArcServe. I tried the Merge and import of the files, but ArcServe kept saying that the USB drive was an Invaild Drive when I tried to mount it.
